This weeks blog

February 13, 2015

Aikido on Monday went well, I was working with Ian again, we went through the 4th Kyu syllabus, using the irimi 2 ‘escape’, then we decided to try out hand at the syllabus with all 4 ‘escapes’ – I think we got through, or just about anyway….

There is a small issue with the syllabus, as in which one are we supposed to use, as at the moment the one displayed on the association website is different to the (old) one we are using in the club, I’m sure everything will work out in the end, we finished class with knife Tai-gi 1, and some Ki-Testing.

During the early hour of Tuesday morning I was struck down by the stomach bug that the daughter seems to have brought home with her from school (She was bad over the weekend), so I missed work on Tuesday.

Thursday was our (Doncaster & Rotherham district) first Buddhist principles talk, we held the event at mine and Lynne Moss came round to do the talk, which we all enjoyed – the subject was the ‘Ten Worlds’ which basically describes our life-states that we are in from moment to moment – Hell, Hunger, Animality, Anger, Humanity, Rapture, Learning, Realisation, Bodhisattva and Buddhahood.

Next month we’re going to look at the principle of turning ‘poison to medicine’ – that is taking a bad experience or situation and creating something of value from it.

Well I’m off work next week, I’m off to York on Monday, hopefully this won’t interfere with my Aikido practice, then the car is in for the MOT on Tuesday, so hopefully all will go well…..
